Both of our girls got some very neat packages from their grandparents this week for Valentine’s day, and far from the squabbling over candy it could have become (and has in the past on other occasions), both girls have just shown amazing generosity and little acts of kindness. They’ve shared candy with each other; when Fiona got a box earlier in the day than Ella did, she shared some goodies with Ella. When part of a box of Fiona’s candy was taken by Greta (the stray food vacuum), Ella shared her box to help make up for it. When Ella came home today with a box of valentines and a few candies from her schoolmates, she shared some of her candy with Fiona. When they got a $5 bill in another valentine, Ella said she would put hers into the investments section of her piggy bank, and Fiona said she wanted to buy bananas.
Tonight, when it was lights out time for Ella, she complained because she wanted to keep making origami in her bed, and asked to be woken up early so she could have time to knit.
